Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Management
Program Overview
The graduate certificate in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Management will prepare graduate students to lead, manage, and govern the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence within modern organizations. Grounded in organizational development and leadership, the specialization equips students with practical AI literacy, strategic decision-making skills, ethical awareness, and governance competencies needed to evaluate AI opportunities, manage AI-enabled teams and processes, and support trustworthy, human-centered innovation. The specialization prepares graduates to advance organizational performance while promoting accountability, transparency, compliance, and responsible use of AI in a rapidly evolving global society.
Admission Requirements
Individuals seeking admission to a Newberry College graduate program must meet the following minimal requirements:
- Provide official transcripts from an accredited degree-granting university or college demonstrating completion of a bachelor's degree.
- Students must have earned a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation)
- Students must have a minimum, cumulative college GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale OR 3.0 or higher during the final 60 hours of undergraduate coursework. The GPA requirement is waived for applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for an earned graduate degree.

The online master’s certificate in AI requires a total of 12 credit hours:
- AIL 500 Literacy for Managers and Leaders
- AIL 510 Managing AI-Enabled Processes and Teams
- AIL 520 Risk, Ethics, Governance, and Compliance
- AIL 530 Strategy, Innovation, and Competitive Advantage
Pathway Toward MS Degree
- These 4 certificate courses (12 credits) apply toward the full MS in Organizational Development and Leadership degree.
- After completing the certificate, students need an additional 24 credit hours to complete the MS degree.
