Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity Management
Program Overview
The graduate certificate in Cybersecurity Management will prepare graduate students to lead, manage, and support cybersecurity initiatives within modern organizations through applied knowledge in governance, risk, compliance, cloud and network security, security operations, and cyber law.
Grounded in Newberry College’s commitment to intellectual and personal development, meaningful vocation, and engaged citizenship, the specialization equips students to evaluate cyber risk, communicate effectively with stakeholders, support ethical and legally informed decision-making, and strengthen organizational resilience in an increasingly complex digital society.
Admission Requirements
Individuals seeking admission to a Newberry College graduate program must meet the following minimal requirements:
- Provide official transcripts from an accredited degree-granting university or college demonstrating completion of a bachelor's degree.
- Students must have earned a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation)
- Students must have a minimum, cumulative college GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale OR 3.0 or higher during the final 60 hours of undergraduate coursework. The GPA requirement is waived for applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for an earned graduate degree.
Learning Path
The online master’s certificate in Cyber Security requires a total of 12 credit hours:
- CYL 500 Governance, Risk, and Compliance
- CYL 510 Cloud, Networks, and System Security
- CYL 520 Security Operations
- CYL 530 Cyber Law
Pathway Toward MS Degree
- These 4 certificate courses (12 credits) apply toward the full MS in Organizational Development and Leadership degree.
- After completing the certificate, students need an additional 24 credit hours to complete the MS degree.
