Technology Requirements for Online Classes
To do your best work in online college courses, you’ll need a dependable computer and internet connection.
Recommended computer specs:
- Laptop or desktop computer (Windows or Mac)
- Up-to-date operating system (Windows 10+ or macOS 11+)
- Current web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge)
Internet connection:
- High-speed internet (at least 5 Mbps download speed)
- A wired connection is best for live video classes
Helpful accessories:
- Built-in or external webcam
- Microphone or headset for video chats
- Printer (optional, but nice to have for study notes)
Software:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
